You only have to look on eBay or Gumtree to see that the second hand car market is bigger than ever. It’s no wonder why really. A car that’s been used for a year could drop 3 or 4 times its original price, meaning somebody, usually a dealer, gets an absolute bargain that they can sell on for a healthy profit.

If you are looking to sell your car, you should do your homework first to see how popular the model is and how it compares to similar cars on the market. Check out the prices of cars that are similar to yours, in terms of make, model and mileage. Once you know your car’s true value, you have your lowest possible asking price ready, so people can either match it or move on. Don’t let someone buy your car for a complete bargain just because you don’t want to do your homework.
