No matter what car you have, whether it’s a huge saloon vehicle, an SUV or a supermini hatchback, brake pads have to be changed every once in while. The first part of this task is easy; you just remove the locking bolts on your wheel, usually under some form of hub cap, and then take off the wheel.

Once this is done you should be able to see your brake pads and your discs. You then need to unclip your brake pads, and remove the outside pad first. Quickly check the wear is even on both sides and then remove the second pad. Simply clip in your new pads, mount the brake caliper back onto the disc as it was and add the wheel.

Then tighten it up and you’re good to go.  If you run into any problems it’s always best to consult a mechanic, or if you really are not sure what you’re looking at then just leave it to the professionals.
