Getting a scratch on your car can be simple to fix at home instead of taking it to the garage where it can cost hundreds to respray a car.  This assumes that the scratch is not too big and has not chipped a large amount of paintwork.

There are three layers of paintwork on a car, a clear coat, a base coat and a primer. For small surface scratches and scrapes, you might be able to fix them at home with scratch repair kits.

There are many items that you can buy such as T-cut and Turtle Wax scratch remover that can be used with the following method

Start by washing and drying the car thoroughly.  This will show up all the scratches that need repairing

Use a microfibre cloth to apply the scratch repair lotion of your choice

Rub the product onto the affected area with a firm hand pressure

Let the product dry and then clean off with a clean microfibre cloth

You can repeat this process where necessary
