There a few telltale signs that tell you to get a new pair of break pads. It doesn’t matter what car you have, the following signs will likely be the same.

Squeaky Brakes

Firstly, your brakes will start to squeak, and this is a sign that your pads are wearing thin. This can be temperamental to start with, but as soon as it starts it’s best to get your car checked out. If you’re not sure what you’re looking for book it in for a service to see if your brakes are safe.

Grinding

The grinding noise usually comes next and this usually means your pads are completely worn and they’re starting to damage the disc. A shattered disc can be an expensive repair, so if you’ve ignored the squeaking please don’t be foolish enough to ignore grinding noises too.

Your Brakes are locked on

Sometimes your brakes can lock on when the pads have worn and this usually means your brake calipers are seized. Getting it looked at early can save your bacon though.
