Learning to drive is one of those stand out moments on anybody’s path to adulthood. It gives you an incomparable level freedom, to go where you want and to do whatever you want, and many people look forward to it like nothing else, as it will be their first opportunity to leave the nest, so to speak.

Becoming a qualified driver requires two things, namely that you establish that you can actually drive, and that you understand the rules of the road. These are established as fact during your driving exams, one of which is practical and the other is written.

Your practical exam is something that should only be taken after you’ve had ample time practising with a suitable driving instructor. They will be able to cover all of the basic components of getting you road-worthy.

The written exam, often referred to as the theory exam, covers a wide range of theoretical scenarios that you may have to contend with on the road. It tests your ability to respond to issues in an appropriate manner that doesn’t negatively impact anybody else on the road. You will also have to establish that you know all of the rules of the road and can read signs and so on.
